South Cotswolds

The Brief
Set within the Southern Cotswolds and located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), this project required full planning permission and a sensitive design approach. The client was looking to create a combined home office and gym space that felt completely at home within the established, wraparound gardens of the property. The new structure would replace an old greenhouse, tucked neatly into the corner of the garden.

Design Approach
The focus was to design a building that embraced a traditional country aesthetic, ensuring it blended seamlessly with both the property and its surroundings. A pitched roof finished with red pan clay tiles reflects the local vernacular, while feather edge oak cladding introduces natural texture and warmth. Bespoke heritage-style glazing, finished in a custom RAL colour, adds character and detail while maintaining a timeless appearance. Careful positioning within the garden allows the building to sit quietly within the landscape, surrounded by mature planting

Planning & Considerations
